Clients must EITHER currently


Have a claim for Employment Insurance (EI) benefits

Have EI reach back benefits that ended within the previous 60 months


or 


Who have EARNED more than $2000 in insurable earnings and paid employee EI premiums on those earnings in at least 5 of the last 10 years

(Note: the 5 years do not have to be consecutive years) 


and


Must be PR, Citizen, Protected Refugee (with court’s decision)

Health Care Assistant

Western Community College - Surrey / Abbotsford

Western Community College with Community Partner PICS are pleased to offer Health Care Assistant Program. The HCA track Program is 100% funded by the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction for all eligible candidates. Participants will qualify for work experience in Complex Care, Acute Care, Home Support, Assisted Living, Group Homes and Adult Care. 

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS 


  • Currently receiving Employment Insurance (EI) benefits or Reachback, have had a EI Benefit within the previous 60 months or have earned more than $2000 in insurable earnings and have paid Employee EI premiums on those earnings in at least 5 of the last 10 years (Note: the 5 years do not have to be consecutive years)


  • Must be PR, Citizen, Protected Refugee (with court’s decision)


  • Meets BC Care Aide Registry Entrance requirements


  • IELTS (Academic or General) or


  • TOEFL or


  • CAEL or


  • CELPIP (Academic or General) or


  • CLB PT 


  • CELBAN



BENEFITS


  • Graduates of the HCA Fast Track Program are eligible for registration with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry
