General Requirements for All Programs

Clients must EITHER currently


Have a claim for Employment Insurance (EI) benefits

Have EI reach back benefits that ended within the previous 60 months


or 


Who have EARNED more than $2000 in insurable earnings and paid employee EI premiums on those earnings in at least 5 of the last 10 years

(Note: the 5 years do not have to be consecutive years) 


and


Must be PR, Citizen, Protected Refugee (with court’s decision)

Fully funded training for RED SEAL certification is delivered to unemployed immigrants, youth and other individuals case-managed by WorkBC. EI up to $300 per week living support along with other benefits such as daycare, transportation, books & supplies etc. are provided to the participants.


This 15 week program includes education that provides RED SEAL Occupational Standards (RSOS) recognized provincially. Participants will also receive work experience with employers and help with job search and placement support and follow-up.


PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS


  • Currently receiving Employment Insurance (EI) benefits or Reachback, have had a EI Benefit within the previous 60 months or have earned more than $2000 in insurable earnings and have paid Employee EI premiums on those earnings in at least 5 of the last 10 years (Note: the 5 years do not have to be consecutive years)


  • Must be PR, Citizen, Protected Refugee (with court's decision)


  • Referred by a WorkBC Centre with an Action Plan
