Food Service Assistant training for persons with Disabilities-PBLMT

Eligibility and Admissions Requirement

 

  • Eligible clients are unemployed individuals

  • Must be 19 years and over

  • Have a Permanent Residence, or be a citizen of Canada

  • Who have an active PWD status

  • Who have an Action Plan (AP) that identifies Food Service Assistant training as a reasonable step to achieve their occupational goal.

  • High school graduate and meet College English Language Proficiency Assessment Test provided by Western Community College.

  • Training starts April 17, 2023.

Training information-

This training is 23 weeks long which includes:

 

18 weeks of occupational and employability skills training including English language terminology and Essential Skill assessments

4 weeks of on-the-job work experience with local employers

1 week of job search support and follow up

 

Orientation will take place for one week at Western Community College at 8318 120 St in Surrey.

 

Food Service Assistant certificate training will take place at the Round Up Café training kitchen at 10449 King George Blvd in Surrey.

Certificates

 

Participants successful in all sections and training, after passing all exams, will receive a Food Service Assistant Certificate.
