Success Training Project (ISST)

Discover your potential with PICS Intercultural Skills for Success Training Project, a transformative initiative designed to empower Canadians who are looking for work or higher education. Formerly Essential Skills, the Skills for Success model is for all Canadians who need to improve their foundational and transferable skills. The model responds to the needs of the current and future labour market.

This is a free 4-week hybrid full-time project tailored to meet the demands of British Columbia's most in-demand industries, including Retail, Hospitality, Financial Services, and Building Construction. Classes will be primarily in-person, supplemented by one-on-one support sessions and follow up service. This project will foster success in the workplace, higher learning, community involvement and personal development.

Eligibility:

 Resident of BC

 Legally entitled to work in Canada

 Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or Convention Refugee

 18 years old or above

 Self-identify as member of one of the following under-represented populations:

o Women

o Persons with Disabilities

o Indigenous People

o Newcomers

o Racialized Groups

 Job Search Skills and Documents

 Employment / Education Action Plan Development

Benefits of the Project:

 Enhanced understanding of the labour market

 Short-term occupational certificate training

 Financial support: participants will receive gift cards worth $175 ($25 after first week, $50 after second week and $100 in fourth week, this $100 are designated to transportation support)

Online info sessions are held via Zoom, every week on Tuesday, 9:30AM PST for knowing more about the program
