PROGRAM FULL

Class Format: 100% live virtual online; 2 days in-person in Burnaby, BC location

Class Timings: Monday to Friday 9:30AM till 4:30PM

PROGRAM STRUCTURE

> Orientation – 2 Weeks

> Short Term Occupational Training – 1 Week

> Skills Training in Graphic Design – 30 Weeks

> Practicum – 3 Weeks

> Job Search Support – 3 Weeks

Skills Training Graphic Design Diploma over the course of thirty (30) weeks;

> Introduction to Keyboarding

> Keyboard Skill Building Level 1

> Personal Computer Fundamentals

> Windows 10 Level 1

> Internet Fundamentals

> Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint

> Business Presentations

> Photoshop Basics

> Color Theory

> Illustrator Basics

> Fundamentals of Typography

> Design and Composition

> Fundamentals of Logo Design

> The Study of Graphic Design

> Graphic Design 1

> Print Production

> Design Business

> Business Essentials

> Customer Service

> Study/Review – Graphic Designer

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

(1 of each section must be met in order to be eligible)

Section 1 – Canadian Status + Currently live in BC​

• Canadian Citizen

• Permanent Resident

• Refugee with Court Notice of Decision

Section 2 – Employment Status

​• Unemployed​

• Casual/ on-call Employed (less than 20 hours per week)​

• Part-Time Employed (less than 20 hours per week)​

Section 3 - EI Eligibility​

• BCEA PWD Clients​

• BCEA Non-PWD Clients (Income Assistance)​

• Active Regular Employment Insurance (EI) Benefits​

• EI Reachback: have had Regular EI benefits within the previous 60 months​

• Worked full-time for at least any 5 years out of the last 10 years in Canada + have earned more than $2,000 in insurable earnings and have paid Employee EI premiums on those earnings in at least 5 of the last 10 years (Note: the 5 years do not have to be consecutive years)​

Section 4 – WorkBC Case Management​

• WorkBC Case Manager confirmed your eligibility and submitted your application to the Ministry. The case Manager sends an approval email to PICS before the start of the program. Also have not received have government funded program within 12 months.

Section 5 – College Eligibility

• Academic IELTS 6 or better

• Academic TOFLE 80 or better

• Canadian High School Grade 12 English C+ or better

• If you don’t have any of the above following, must take an entrance exam with college.
