About the program:
The project provides three (3) intakes of participants at a maximum of fifteen (15) participants per intake, a group-based, full-time program consisting of
- eleven (11) weeks of Essential, employability and occupational skills training
- four (4) weeks of on-the-job work experience with local employers
- and one (1) week of follow-up support to prepare participants for employment as residential and commercial installers and servicers in the Lower Mainland area.
Who is it for?
It would be beneficial if participants in this project also possess the following:
- Good hand-eye coordination; strong dexterity and attention to detail
- CLB Level 5 for those who speak English as another language
- Comfortable working with math
- Able to travel to various sites for practicum
- Access to a reliable vehicle or public transit to be able to travel to work experience site
- Physically fit and able to stand, crouch, and move around for an extended period of time

- Week 1-2: Program Orientation and Essential Skills (Skills for Success)
- Week 3: Introduction to Trades Math
- Week 4: Soft Skills Training
- Week 5: Short-term occupational skills training
- Week 6 – 11 Occupational Skills Training
- Canadian Electrical Code for Renewable Energy Systems Installation
- Installation of Battery Banks
- Installation of Wind Turbine Generators
- Installation of Solar Photo-voltaic Systems
- Green Energy System Safety
- Domestic Electrics and EV Car Charging Point Installation
- Weeks 12-15: Practicum (unpaid, in person)
- Week 16: follow-up and job search support
