Program Description


This diploma program focuses on preparing students to work as a programmer requiring the application of current industry policies, practices, procedures, and tools. Upon successful completion, students will have demonstrated the ability to apply theoretical knowledge and hands-on skills in industry-standard programming languages, database design and application, fundamentals of object-oriented programming, HTML, JavaScript, and practical software applications.


Career Opportunities


Upon successful completion, graduates will be able to secure employment, for example, as application programmers, programmer analysts, and software development programmers.

Cohort 1: 31 st Oct 2022 – 21 st July 2023

Cohort 2: 28th Nov 2022 – 25th Aug 2023

Program Eligibility


To be eligible for this opportunity, you must:

• Referred by a WorkBC Centre with an Action Plan

• Current resident of British Columbia

• Either a Permanent Resident, Canadian Citizenship, or Refugee (protected person)

• BCEA PWD Clients

• BCEA Non-PWD Clients (Income Assistance)

• Currently receiving Employment Insurance (EI) Benefits or

• Reachback, have had an EI benefit within the previous 60 months or

• Have earned more than $2,000 in insurable earnings and have paid Employee EI premiums on those earnings in at least 5 of the last 10 years (Note: the 5 years do not have to be consecutive years)

• Grade 12 graduate or mature student status (British Columbia, 19 years or older)

• Meet minimum English language proficiency requirements
